Before you proceed, you can check our dedicated Instagram resource page to find solutions to specific issues affecting Stories, Instagram Live, IGTV, and more. That page also contains a lot of useful tips and tricks to elevate and improve your Instagram experience. So now, let’s move to useful solutions for fixing Instagram on your iPhone.

1. Check Internet Connection

If Instagram isn’t loading pictures, videos, or direct messages, make sure your iPhone’s internet connection is active. Try using other social media apps and check if they work correctly. If these (internet-dependent) apps don’t also work, proceed to troubleshoot your iPhone’s connection. Otherwise, jump to method #2. For cellular data, turn it off and turn it back on after some seconds. Do the same for a Wi-Fi connection. You should also make sure your internet router is powered on and working correctly. Restart the router and verify with your service provider that there isn’t a network interruption or glitch on their end. Alternatively, enable Airplane mode and disable it after 30 seconds. That will refresh your iPhone’s internet connection and eliminate any glitch slowing down your device’s internet or preventing it from transmitting data. Another reason your iPhone’s data connection doesn’t work could be because you’ve exhausted your data plan. Therefore, we recommend that you verify the validity period, data volume, as well as expiration date of your internet plan. Refer to these guides for more detailed instructions on how to fix connectivity issues on your iPhone.

Say you are unable to create Instagram stories or you’re facing difficulties going Live on the platform, check that Instagram has the necessary permissions required for that to happen. Basically, for Instagram to work correctly on your iPhone, it requires access to your pictures, microphone, camera, mobile data, and more. Step 1: Scroll to the bottom of your iPhone’s Settings menu and select Instagram. That will launch the Instagram permission and settings page. Step 2: Click Photos and select All Photos.
