Thanks to smartphone apps, you can now deliver your speeches on camera, even on social media, using one of the below teleprompter apps for Android. Let’s begin.
1. Teleprompter Pro
Teleprompter Pro is a nifty little app that will help you deliver your speeches just the way you’d want it — without any mistakes or fumbles. Just tap on New and add the script name and content in the given area. It’s that simple. Tapping on the Settings tab will reveal options to import script, if you have one on your smartphone. That is useful when you get a ready-made script directly from your editor or writer. Once you import it, you can change font and background color to make it easy on your eyes. You can add a 3-second countdown too so that you can compose yourself before starting the speech. You can control scroll speed in the free version. Teleprompter Pro also has a lite version which is free to download and use and is ad-supported. The pro version will cost you $7.99 and allow unlimited scripts, remove ads, and enable mirror mode. The last one will reverse the text if you are using a teleprompter rig with a mirror. Download Teleprompter Pro
2. Simple Teleprompter
Simple Teleprompter offers some additional options, but the basic premise remains the same. You create and name your document and add your story or speech. Once done, you can tap on the Settings button below to customize the look and feel. You can control settings for individual documents/scripts separately. Apart from changing font size and color, you can also change the font type. However, the options are limited. Having a countdown is good but having the ability to wait until the scrolling begins is even better. Finally, you can control and change the space between lines to suit your viewing angle and visibility. Simple Teleprompter is a free app with no ads. Download Simple Teleprompter
3. Video Teleprompter
Powerful smartphones come with cameras that are capable of recording videos in HD and even 4K resolution. Many folks including the YouTubers and journalists use their smartphone to record quick videos. Video Teleprompter combines the two to create a video teleprompter app. You can use it to record videos and read your script at the same time. The app is well-designed, and its interface is easy on the eyes. You can start by creating a script. Once you have the script ready, tap on it to either edit it or begin video recording. Honestly, the camera is nothing to write home about. It is very basic and we have covered some excellent camera apps. Still, the ability to shoot and read the script at the same time does count for something. On the downside, there are no advanced options to change font size or color. However, you can set auto-scrolling. The app is ad-supported and completely free with no in-app purchases. Download Video Teleprompter
4. BIGVU
Another video teleprompter app but a lot better than the previous one. You can record video while reading your pre-written script. Where BIGVU differs is the ability to customize how you record the video and how the text is displayed. Using a green screen as a background? BIGVU will let you insert custom backgrounds, logo, image or even video, to add more graphics to your presentation. You can also add text overlays on the recorded video like presenter and cameraman credit or additional info on what you are presenting. Want to share your newly created video on social media? You can optimize the video to reduce size and change format to square for maximum result, and share directly from within the app itself. The app offers other features like changing font size and color, background, video resolution from 480p to 1080p, scroll speed, and text position. Heck, it also comes with its cloud storage plan. BIGVU is free to use but the pro plan, at $59.99/yearly, will remove the watermark, customized logo, audio and video tools, and ability to add outro. Download BIGVU
5. Selvi
What Selvi will do is show an overlay of text when you begin video recording on your smartphone. This way, you will never forget a single line. Instead of showing the text at the top or bottom, Selvi displays it in a translucent window. That often obstructs the view. I was unable to see what my camera was capturing. Fortunately, you can only control the size and not the position of the text prompt window. You can also alter the font type, size, and color which is some relief but its not the same as viewing text at the bottom or top of the screen. Not very convenient but still fine. Finally, you can bump the video resolution from 480p to 1080p and switch from front to rear camera. The premium version will remove ads, add new color themes and more fonts for a one-time fee of $1.99. Download Selvi
