Today in this article, we help you discover 11 cool Samsung Galaxy A8+ tips and tricks that would help you to take the A8+ experience to a whole new level.

1. Bixby Home & Vision

The Galaxy A8+ is one of the first phones from Samsung in the sub-Rs 33,000 price bracket to feature Bixby – the smart assistant from Samsung. Similar to the Galaxy Note8/S8, it sports both Bixby Home and Bixby Vision. Though the Bixby Home brings all your activities under a single roof, it’s the Bixby Vision that caught my interest in the first place. It can recognize almost all the images you throw at it. Just open the camera app, tap on Bixby Vision and capture a quick shot. Also, you can find interesting places nearby by tapping on the AR icon.

2. Control Notifications Using Gestures

The Samsung Galaxy A8+ sports a few smart gestures like the One-handed mode and the Finger sensor gestures. While the one-handed mode makes it easier to operate the phone, the Finger sensor gestures help you control the notification panel. Just swipe down on the fingerprint sensor to bring the notification panel down and vice versa. Head over to Advanced Features > Finger sensor gestures to enable it.

3. Swipe Palm to Capture Screenshot

Another cool feature of the Galaxy A8+ is Palm Capture. All you have to do is slide the edge of your hand across the screen to capture a screenshot. To enable it, go to Advanced Features and enable the option for Palm Swipe to capture.

4. Use the Secure Folder

The Galaxy A8+ gives you a pretty good reason to ban the third-party app lockers from your phone, as it comes with the in-house Secure Folder app. This app creates an encrypted location within your Galaxy A8+, which lets you store important files, apps, pictures, etc that you normally would keep locked. It uses the security features of the in-house Samsung Knox’s to lock the apps, either through PIN, Pattern or fingerprint.

5. Customize Always on Display

The Always on Display (AOD) feature has become synonymous with almost all the premium Samsung phones. This feature shows all the information such as time, battery level and notifications without waking up the phone. What’s more? It contains a wide array of styles and themes. Moreover, you can even customize the AOD to reflect your contact information on the screen. All you have to do is head over to the Lock Screen and Security > Information and FaceWidgets > Contact information and update your name. Once done, go to the AOD settings and choose the first (or second) option under Content to Show.

6. Prioritize Your Notifications

Android Nougat gives you the option to prioritize and deprioritize app notifications. So, for those apps whose notifications aren’t that important, you can go to Notifications Settings to turn them off. To prioritize app notifications, head over to Apps > Notifications and enable Set as priority.

7. Customize the Nav Bar

The boring navigation bar in the Samsung Galaxy A8+ can be revamped to give it a new ravishing look. It gives you the option to choose from around 7 different colors. Just head over to the Display settings > Navigation Bar and pick one of the colors. Apart from that, you can also choose to hide the nav bar when not in use. All you need to do is toggle the Show and hide button to On. Once done, you’ll see a tiny dot at the edge of the nav bar. Double tap on it to hide it and swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access it.

8. Boost Your Downloads

Another nifty feature of the Galaxy A8+ is Download Booster. As suggestive of its name, it lets you boost the download speed for files over 30MB. This tech uses Wi-Fi and cellular data simultaneously, however, folks with caps on cellular data should keep an eye on their data consumption. To enable this cool feature, head over to Connections > More connection settings and toggle the Download Booster switch to On.

9. Enable the Multi Windows Mode

One of the main highlights of Android Nougat was the multi-window mode where you can have two apps running side-by-side on the screen. However, this feature is kept disabled in the Galaxy A8 by default. To enable it, go to the Advanced Settings > Multi Window and enable the Split screen view option. But the fun part is the Pop-up view feature. It lets you select an area of the current app to dock at the top of the active app. In my opinion, you can call it a scaled-down version of Android Oreo’s Picture-in-Picture mode.

10. Enable Game Launcher

Samsung’s Game Launcher is targeted at heavy gamers. It places all your games conveniently in one place and lets you tune the game performance as per your preference. To enable the Game Launcher feature, navigate to Advanced Features > Games and toggle the switch On. So, the next time you want to play Asphalt Extreme, tap on the icon that says Normal Performance and zoom away.

11. Run Two Accounts of the Same App

Last but not the least, we have the Dual Messenger feature. As suggestive of its name, it lets you run two accounts of the same app. Similar to most of the savvy tricks, this too can be found in the Advanced settings. All you need to do is enable the app for which you want two parallel accounts and the phone will guide you through the rest of the process.
